I saw Rory every time he came to Detroit from early 70s to his last tour in 94 at the Key West club. Royal Oak Music Hall gigs rank as the best concerts I’ve ever seen! I was at this one too, in fact one of those arms in the air may be mine as I was standing right at the foot of that tall stage. Rory was simply the best live act on any stage. He gave every bit of his soul to the audience. I think he truly loved playing the Motor City, I know I was completely satisfied and drained after all his concerts. It’s so sad that kids will never be exposed to his music and just be programmed to listening to drivel. Thank you so much for posting these great photos of the most amazing blues-rock guitarist of all time!

Saw Rory at the key west club in 94 also. My friend and i arrived very early and sat in the parking lot drinking beers. After being there awhile my friend starts shrieking “ look look straight ahead” !!!! It was Rory coming out of an old ford econoline van. We ran across the lot to meet him along with about only 5 or 6 other people. We shook my hand and it seemed to be puffy to me. He looked very puffy on his face and everyone agreed after he left to go inside. He spent some time with us answering questions. It was so awesome. I cried when I heard he died. Saw him many times from royal oak to Harpos to opening at Cobo arena for some group I hated. Truly a great of all time !!!!
