BBC Radio 2 presents “The Rory Gallagher Story”

On October 14, BBC Radio 2 rebroadcast “The Rory Gallagher Story,” a documentary on the late, great, Irish guitar legend. This programme was originally presented on April 16, 2005 to mark the 10th anniversary of his passing. Hosted by celebrated guitarist, Gary Moore, the documentary includes rare recordings of Rory as well as remembrances from Donal Gallagher, Brian May, Johnny Marr, Martin Carthy, Jack Bruce, Ronnie Drew, and Georgie Fame. Rory Gallagher on the Radio

Randy Bachman, guitarist and songwriter for such legendary groups as the Guess Who and BTO, hosts a radio program on Canadian Radio One called, “Vinyl Tap”. Each week Randy does a music “theme” show and this weeks theme is “cars”. The first song Randy elected to play for his audience is Rory’s “Souped-Up Ford”. Randy talks a bit about Rory as well.

Louise Dunphy hosts a program called “Celtic Crossings” (Sundays 3:30-5:30 pm EST) on WMUA Radio, University of Massachusetts. The program explores the contemporary Celtic music scene of the British Isles, Canada, and the U.S. This weeks guest was Irish Rock and Blues artist, Barry McCabe. Barry talks about the Irish music scene, his own critically acclaimed body of work, and his fond remembrances of the legendary Strat Man, Rory Gallagher.
