Here are a few Rory Gallagher mentions on the world wide web:

Waveriders Waveriders is available to own on DVD for the first time in North American on March 16, 2010. This award winning documentary traces the Irish roots of the surfing phenomenon that took the U.S. by storm in the mid-60’s and that has recently gained popularity on the Emerald Isle. Directed and written by Joel Conroy, the movie contains interviews with some of the legendary surfers of modern times, including world champion Kelly Slater, Kevin Naughton, and the Malloy brothers. The movie culminates with some incredible footage of surfers riding monster waves off the coast of Ireland. The soundtrack includes a song from famed Irish musician Rory Gallagher. You would think that Rory’s “Crest of a Wave” would have been the logical choice, however a live version of “In Your Town” got the nod.

Larry Kirwan is also an accomplished writer who has written several books and numerous plays and hosts the Celtic Crush on SIRIUS XM Satellite Radio. Larry also writes a weekly column for the Irish Echo.
- Tolo Marton Italian blues guitarist, Tolo Marton, plays a painted stratocaster with a familiar face on the horn. Yes, that’s Rory Gallagher at the top-right! Tolo cites Rory as one of his biggest influences, and includes a few covers of his songs when he performs. In 2002 he released the live 2-CD set, Dal Vero including covers of Rory Gallagher’s “Laundromat” and “What’s Going On”. Like Rory, Tolo is at his best when he’s playing live. In 2004 he performed Rory’s “Out of My Mind” at a tribute for Rory in Pistoia, Italy. Below is his electric cover of “Don’t Know Where I’m Going” from a live show in 2009:
